About

About Ngartini

she is  a distinguished professional Guzheng player, stands as a testament to the universal language of music. Born and raised in Medan, Indonesia, she embarked on her musical journey at the prestigious Sun Wen Yen Music School in Shanghai ,China.  She has been certified as a professional Level Zither musician as per rigorous standards (China National Musical Instruments Artistic Cultivation Performance Examination) .

Her passion for traditional Chinese instruments, the Guzheng and Pipa, transformed her into a virtuoso, and she has since dedicated herself to the art of music.

Her music evokes timeless ancient techniques  and newer creative ones,   developing  ambiences, and teasing with flavours and motifs to create an inspiring texture of traditional and modern sound.  Guzheng takes it's rightful place in the world music landscape.

She was invited in 2022 by Indonesia's Got Talent (IGT) organisers as a performer.  She is also a lecturer at the University of North Sumatra and created a flourishing music academy focused on teaching the younger generation.

Ngartini is not only a skilled musician but also a fervent advocate for the belief that music has the power to enlighten and uplift individuals from all walks of life throughout the world. Her journey began with a vision – to break down cultural barriers and demonstrate that music is a gateway to intellectual enrichment.

As a torchbearer of Chinese culture, Ngartini has been actively involved in promoting the "Four Arts of China (四藝);Qin, Qi, Shu, Hua ," a traditional concept encompassing Guzheng, Chess Strategy, Calligraphy and Painting. Through her performances and teachings, she has endeavoured to preserve and disseminate the art of Guzheng, ensuring that they continue to thrive in the modern world.
